Mapping The Unknown

Go in where you have never been.

The stars have harnessed your heart.

You need not know.

But feel this tug, how it pulls you on.

The mystery of expansion.

How you recognize simultaneously your choice and this new ground.

Where what is unknown is woven into the earth you walked on yesterday, frozen and fertile.

And your song, your song

you began singing before you were born,

echoes, returns to you, reverbing off mesas where you watch eagles soar.

Today the sun streams through your windows.

One little dog sleeps.

Within each of us there is potential for despair.

You have met already.

Rued the day.

Now you know, everything changes,

including what is unknown.

You have learned a new way to give thanks,

tender blessings,

like seeds born from the bowels of a most magnificent bird.
