Hi! I’m Amanda.

Welcome to Pink Love Studio!

Living your life as an artist, as someone who makes art, takes guts. Are you willing? It takes practice. You’re challenged to be flexible, invited to be curious.

I am fascinated by the creative process; how it reveals meaning. Each mark leads me somewhere and changes something, the way water shapes rocks and wind leaves evidence of its power.

The activities of creating take discipline. Making art requires us to show up. Even in, especially with, every fault and faltering there is something greater that emerges. It is a choice to begin. Again and again. Until beginning falls away and you just are, here and now, creating.

Art journaling is a wonderful way to get to know yourself. You can try this for FREE. Art has the ability to heal us. Art connects us.

I believe collaboration offers us so much that I co-wrote a book about it.

I mix media anyway I can. Combining art making with questions, journaling, breath, is a fun way to learn creatively. You can create a life you want to live. A life that you LOVE.

I work from here, eagerly.

Loosen Up, this digital artbook is part sketchbook part poetry. It began its way on paper and in software applications in order to explore and learn digital bookmaking and the practice of keeping a digital sketchbook.
For less money than a latte bought at your local coffee shop, there's plenty to sip in this artbook. Be inspired. Get creative. Find novel ways to support ongoing daily practice.

I loved this book.
It made me think, it made me rethink, and it helped me to make some changes.

An invitation to me, to all of us who are curious, to play to practice to be.

Deepen your self-reliance, choose where you will go, invite people along. Welcome surprise.

Many of us don’t believe in ourselves. Or the world we live in. It’s more familiar to spot what won’t work, to believe I can’t rather than I can. We can learn how to create possibility when we feel like there isn’t any and grow trust in ourselves to choose well, when too often we’ve not been choosing better.

99 Faces is a project that continues to surprise me and heals me. I decided, determinedly enough, that I would create ninety nine faces. I figured this would help me focus, create a body of work, and allow me to learn and grow as an artist. I could choose better. All of which turned out to be true. But something else happened, something unexpected.

I had drawn over thirty faces from references scoured from the internet. Beautiful faces I have never met. Then a friend ask me to do a portrait of her, and I did. It was startling how different I felt, more vulnerable and nervous, surely. Curiously. But it opened me up and connected me in ways where it is easier to express gratitude than find words to describe what began to shift inside me. It allowed me to invite others to share their face with me.

Art has the power to heal us and connect us. Sometimes the way it happens is beautiful and unexpected.

Making art is powerful life changing stuff.

Reflecting on your art making is a way to give you insight into the values, beliefs and mindsets that influence who you are as an artist and a person. It’s a way to become more mindful when making art and in life in general.

With this in mind Tracee Vetting Wolf and I wrote Artist rEvolution A Five Week Odyssey into Inward Facing Collaboration, Self Awareness & Discovery. In it, we talk about the riches of developing your own daily art making practice and outline a delightful Inward Facing Collaboration process to amplify your creativity called Personal Gallery.
